Here are a few photos from a recent trip to Scotland...

Saturday - SRPS tour to Mallaig

47826 is seen here leading 1Z40 SRPS tour to Mallaig at Achallader in a lucky burst of sunshine

47851 is seen here at Loch Elit (on the Mallaig extension) working the outward 1Z41

1Z41 is seen again on the return from Mallaig with 47826 leading as it crosses the Loch Nan Uamh Viaduct

47851 powering over County March with 1Z42 returning to Edinburgh

Sunday - Northern Belle to Oban

37406 leads 37417 at Glen Lochy with the Northern Belle running as 1Z54 from Edinburgh to Oban

50% of the remaining EWS 37/4s are seen at Oban! 37406 is in the siding waiting for 37417 to back on before 37417 leads the evening return

Just after the sun had set on the bridge (due to a late departure from Oban) 37417 and 37406 are seen crossing the Dalmally viaduct over Loch Awe

37417 and 37406 are now seen 'thrashing' up Glen Falloch with the return to Edinburgh

Monday - A Sunny morning but no 'Classic Traction'!

Stupid loco but nice location(!) 67007 is seen here leading 1Y11 over the Achallader viaduct on a nice summers morning (But no 37!)

87022 is seen here leading 1M44 at Crawford (on Beattock) in very lucky sun

Does anyone now why 47851 carries both 47851 & D1648?

i think it may just be part of its repaint. not sure

anyway - great shots. - But why do so many people hate the 67s??

is it not to do with the fact that this loco was the last to carry the green livery & or the last to be renumbered.

Nope, pretty sure its just its 'D' number - several locos repainted in Green recently have had this done, including 37403, 31165, 37411, 47815, 47851....and more besides.

47851 itself was repainted when Virgin put a few XC 47s into heritage liveries.

Geared too high, can't pull anything, overweight, ugly, sound like an air conditioner, more General Motors .... Basically, everything about them's wrong.

I think They are so Bland looking & No Character What So Ever
Lets Face It No One will ever write a series of children's books about them

Let's face it we will all love them when they are about to be withdrawn & Scrapped
