Guards are obliged to shove their heads out of their windows when arriving and departing/passing stations. It's not particularly dangerous IF you are aware of the risks and follow a few simple rules.

Luckily James Mayl is a very experianced driver, and that wasn't planned, I happened to be cycling infront and they were filming, just a bit of fun. :roll:

Ok actually I was shunting at wolverhampton [1991]. (& hugging 47's)
Photo taken by intercity for a magazine article or something.
(Good ole days,proper trains,bloody privatisation etc etc) :lol:
