Id start travelling then because the WCML loco hauleds just comprise of sleeper services and i know GNER are loco hauled but they arent exactly decent and you cant stick ya head out the window. HST's are techincally locohauled which is quite good, ONE wont be locohauled after about 10 years.

There more loco hauled on the WCML than the sleeper. Theres usually a class 90 running between Euston and Birmingham/Wolverhampton in the week. Also a class 90 operates between Birmingham and Manchester. Euston to Holyhead may be reverting to loco hauled

So thats what 86236 was doing on a rake of mk2 stock through wolves heading towards brum the other week ECS. dont know if it actually did the trip, 90037 is the 90 on the wolves - euston if its the EWS one. Holyheads only locohauled on saturdays, class 390 every day after. Theres also atleast one 390 up holyhead on a saturday anyway.

Proper trains :o whatever next! Nice photos btw, esp the 90 and 87 DIT at speed.

Saw a 90 deputising for a plastic voyager at Man Picc last friday - really nice to see. Make me appreciate my childhood at picc watching 86's 87's and 90's running in and out seem like heaven. I won't mention seeing 81012 on a freightliner right at the end of the 81's...

86235? Probably running into Oxley for storage and to give Cotswold the Mk2s or something!

Probably there was an ews driver on so it could have been a stock move to crewe.
