ECML 66's etc.

Post by codrivermike »

I've just added a selection of pics taken on and around the ECML over the last few days. Feel free to have a peek.
Also, can anyone give me any info about the GBRf Class 66 in the gallery. Where is it coming from and going to? Also what is it carrying? It was 8.30am heading west and approaching Thrumpton Rd level crossing at Retford.
I'm just curious as I'm often over that way around that time of day and I might get pics of it at other points.

OK. Botany Bay level crossing is just North of Retford off the A638 and is just to the south of where the ECML crosses under the A road. There is room to park either side of the LC and a good feild of veiw either way. There is another LC 1mile north but visability is poor.
Balne crossing is 2 miles south of where the Great Heck crash happened. It is off the M62 Jncn 34 and south on the A19. Through Whitley village, left at the crossroads, along the road, 2nd right and then left at the crossroads. Just look for the crossing gates. Again there is parking either side of the LC.
Good shooting.

the GB shed would have been on a West Burton- Mountfield, or vice versa, depending if he was heading north or south. Certinaly baggged yourself an excellent vantage point there, i think il have to give it a try somtime :D

I went over to Retford again today but decided to come back the long way round and stop off at Godnow Bridge.
I've added the pics to my ECML and surrounding areas gallery because it's over in that part of the world.
