The Invasion

Post by 1288gaje »

Well here's how the day starts.....
i take the 09:19 Silverlink Metro for Willesden Junction from West Brompton and it arrives on time...
then i'm at Clapham Junction, i go to platform 15 for the 09:29 Southern service to London Bridge which is a......Electrostar ( it's used to be a VEP)
well, i come back to Clapham Junction at 12:15 and see some trains while waiting for the 12:38 for London Waterloo......
there were plenty of trains that day, with only one Slammer at Clapham Yard...
there was a Tamperer, {which i believe that what it's called?! :? }
i boarded the 170 up to Waterloo and we over-took, a 450!! :)
and....i'm at Waterloo,to begin the Invasion
well, i took two photos of the 170
Image
then i returned back to Clapham Junction by taking the 13:20 to Reading ,
then i took the 13:35 back home..
Here are my favourite shots of the day :)

You're getting better Julian, keep it up, the third on is a bit iffy though, or is it just that I'm not very good with modern stuff :D

Most could do with some work, but some are good. Thats all i'll say here for obvious reasons.

They might be getting better, but unless he gets a camera that works this is probably as good as its going to get.

That GBRF looks distorted, if the train gets distoted from that distance then the camera must be rubbish (no offence!).

As everyone else has said, they're an improvment as far as photography SKILL goes, but you're still not giving us much to look at... a few units are fine, but these pics all look the same, same locations, same trains... there's loads of decent stuff around, especially up in London, venture out and find it!

3rd shot is still rubbesh though, I'm afraid, since when did Sir Nigel Gresley build units? :D

I guess that with the same camera there is always going to be the same problem, but the others are now clear enough to be worth uploading, where as before you could have probably formatted the memory card and not lost anything worth keeping.
Units don't bother me, but the point of just taking the same shots from the same stations are valid.

Out of interest, how far out of London can you get? I'd imagine a station like Hitchin or Watford would be interesting to take shots from, and to agree with the others, endless shots of Clapham Jct is getting quite dull!

Top 2 are OK, just don't take pictures of moving things with that camera.

It's called a Tamper.

And lets see something new. Why not go out towards Rainham/ Purfleet and get some CTRL building pics? Might even see a Locomotive...

Jules,

I would agree, the basic problem is that your camera cannot cope with a moving object.
Since you listened to people (and went to auto focus ?) most of your shots have improved beyond belief, but I don't think anyone understands the point of uploading shots of something thats been bent by the camera itself.
In my view you can take peoples advice, or you can ignore it and have people ignore your photos. And you do upload them here asking for what people think !
