Was a great day out and the locos preformed superbly. Traction was 4 class 20s, 37037 and deltic D9019. 47150 was on display at Totnes (brought the locos down), and 50002 (non runner) was on display at Buckfastleigh.
My personal favorite loco was 37037. Although I'd already rode behind it last year, the DDG have done a superb job with her cosmetic restoration, and she really does look great in her Scottish BR Blue livery. We were disappointed by the deltic, the first that many of us had been behind (being south western lads). The loco was running on 1 engine and didn't do much except spit oil all over the coaches and anyone foolish enough to stick their head out the window. We were in the front of the first coach and ended up closing the windows because of the oil being sprayed in. The deltics would doubtlessly be better running as intended on the mainline, but it was simply too powerful to be used to its full potential on this little preserved line.
20s I don't like anyway, so the 4 locos present were nothing but a mode of transport for me
Big up Neds, Perry, Nat, Tristain, Clunk and Simming for attending. Big down the townspeople of buckfastleigh (don't ask...)
