I took a cycle ride up to Micheldever after hearing about the SWT Slammer Farewell Tour for staff and that it was running today as well as next weekend (public). Thanks to Champy for the times.
Found a great spot trackside about 1/4 mile out of Micheldever on a bend, so could see everything coming and going. Also, it happened to be engineering time on the Basingstoke - Salisbury line, so therefore all West of England services were diverted via Southampton and Romsey, yey!
So plenty of action, and it was nice to see the slammers back on the track. I was a bit annoyed however because they're wern't the best pictures ive ever taken, probably because i was so excited and so didn't come out as well as i wished. But never mind, it was nice to see them and i will be seeing them again next week at Southampton Central, when they are running again. Kingfisher Tours are also running a steam excursion using 34067 Tangmere, so will probs see that too.
But for now, enjoy!
