There are some real improvements there, so well done.
I think one thing that you are doing wrong is not thinking about your shot enough before pressing the shutter. This is something that I used to do when I first started photography. You have to remember that the human brain is very selective. So if you are looking at a train coming into a station your eyes see everything, but your brain will filter out all of the rubbish that you're not interested in, such as people, canopies, overhead wires, etc... But the camera records all that it sees. Before you press the shutter consciously look at the image in your viewfinder and see what else is in the picture apart from the main subject. Here's one of my early shots....

At the time all I could see was the train coming into the station, but once I got the pictures back from the developers I could see my mistake. Trouble was you had to pay for your mistakes then. At least now in the digital age you can delete them.
