What a coincidence... I saw your fotopic website being advertised on http://www.fotopic.net just before I read this post... strange :o

Nice pics, bad traction though... pair of 50/50s - at least they've got less chance of failing when there's 2 of them

Strange to see 31 still has the scotty dog - I thought that would have been removed by now..

Hellfire logs on the NLL. Bad traction!!!!! Decent more like since they were on their own line past Action Main Line For a storming run through to Cardiff via Severn Tunnel Junction.

Id have paid the £60 odd quid it would have cost anyday.

Pah, take it above notch 3 on a standing start and bye bye genny ;)

They sound alright on full bore, but there's not much action whilst they're getting there, IMO. Gimme a tractor any day :P

I have to agree here the pair started pulling away from Stratford and there is a speed restriction because you have to cross over to the North London Line, but there waas no clag at all. Even going round the curve into Hackney there was nothing!

Erm - any diesel electric (especially a preserved one) should be opened up gently from standing unless you want to blow the generator up. Brush and Crompton (and other EE for that matter) gear might be more robust, but whack it open at 0mph with a load, and BANG.

You should never trust anything with less crankshafts than cabs...

Yeh, obviously, but a lot of other traction is a lot more forgiving than a vac... they're just very delicate.

Brush stuff is very robust..
