Yesterday, was a Meridian Adventure! Me and Tigermon travelled from Leicester - Derby and back, I was amazed to see 170399 which I had been looking out to see for sometime now, it's new livery is one of the worst. I think it's possibly worse than the "one" livery. 170399 is strange inside as its South West Trains interior, but working for Central Trains, has anyone any background information on the unit?

Nowhere near as bad as 'One', as this one at least advertises the area and brings more profit to the rails

It started off with Central Trains in the pink visit Birmingham livery, then it went on hire to South West Trains, and then I would imagine its back at Central, who havent bothered changing the interior.
Edit: I NEEEEEED to get on these Meridians, freeeeee first classssss in that downgraded half coach! Plus, how did you get in the cab of the 170?

if they are nice, they'll let you in.

I can get rear cab rides, but never succeeded in getting in the front cab.

I believe Coach G will be re-classified back to First Class within a few weeks when the Meridians begin coming into service big time, they are very nice I must admit, far better than any Turbostar.

Only thing I dont like about them, the Lettering, A, F, G, I, are what I believe is on the 4 Cars, and A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H & I on the 9 Car ones, however Coach G is different on them, it is a MCO on the 4 car and a TFO on the 9 Car I believe.

And we didnt even have to ask the Driver, he just asked us if we wanted to go in and we said Yes, I guess it is just all part of that Tigermon Charm, plus the fact that we look like people who are interested in Railways (Camera's and other apparel), as my Sister says, I am a Geek, as I say, I am Cultured.

Fair play. If I hung around with a camera at Wolverhampton station, I would arrive home in pieces.

I highly doubt you would arrive home in peices, it all depends on where you stand, for example if you stand in the area where nobody goes (Except us Trainspotters) then you will not be bothered, although I do notice that I hear a lot of "Dont leave luggage unnatended" announcements when I go up to the Spotting bits of stations.

Luggage unattended is a terrorist warning. Dont try it at New Street - you would end up in a paddy wagon. Stand anywhere on Wolverhampton station, and there will be a gang trying to look threatening - its guarenteed. Even in the goods lift passageway.

But its said that they cant throw you off the station becuase you are not doing anything wrong. I mean you can be thorwn out of aplace that doesn have the signs "no cameras", if u have a camera.

Fred carter was telling me about his meeting with one of the virgin people saying that we should have been "removed" from BNS, and if we wrote a letter of complatin then we would be compinsated.

This guy on the way back from railfest was talking to us on voyager about these people who got thrown off at Kings Cross. they wrote a letter of complaint to NR i think it was and then got a fulll tour of the station (even no public access areas).

So my advise is try it, cos it might be worth it

The problem with BNS is that since it has large police prescence, you tend to get carted off to a police station anyway in this age of 'terrorism'. Some of the staff are great, one particular bloke stayed with my aunt, who has a severe mobility disability, through 6 platform alterations when the train pulled up on the platform it had originally been announced on!

I have taken photo's at BNS before and never been bothered by any staff or anything.
The trick is, do not stay in the same place for a long time, keep moving. Although that can be taken the wrong way (scouting area's for a terrorist attack?) you should have nothing to fear, as you are doing nothing wrong.
