well, managed to get down to Dawlish sea wall earlier today, was great to see the old girl out on the mainline and not in a museum

,
running well too, 7 on i think and looking very much on the upper end of the 75mph limit

great sight.

These photos are kind of ., because I was on the train, and therefore couldnt really phot it from any decent locations

They're low resolution too, the full size ones take ages to upload.
Anyway, heres my pics:

3440 arrives ECS at Bristol, having come from the nearby Barton Hill depot

Fuel stop at Taunton

Nameplates

Taunton again - there's a TV reporter on the footplate

3440 at Exeter - the platform was totally packed

the COT coasting into Paington

Paington II - look at how busy it is!

37197 arrives light engine at Paington to work the tour back

197 heading towards kingswear

3440 ran back from kingswear, along the preserved P&D line, to Painton. Photo taken from the window of the preserved line's coaching stock.

Raking out the smokebox

37197 awaits departure from kingswear

37197, having arrived at Exeter St Davids after a storming run through Dawlish, is ready to go
Enjoy

SAdly it is a requirement these days

. MHR have the right idea, they hide 1 behind a Soutern route disc with a hole in it, think we need someone to find a way of doing a siillar thing for non Southern engines.

Fit group-standard hallogen (class 66 style) light clusters to it
It doesnt look too bad if the light is off-centre, but if it is in the middle your attention is naturally drawn to it..
See she was on the westcountry (spotlight) news last night at Exeter.. big up the interviewees..
