Hampshire and Wiltshire

Yesterday I cycled to visit my cousins in Great Wishford, near Salisbury, and unfortunately 
the route was next to the railway most of the way. 74 miles later, here are the pictures:
The first stop, at Dunbridge station. We had just eaten our chocolate and were ready to go when the level crossing siren sounded. I got the camera out, expecting a Sprinter, and this came around the bend...
Can anyone tell me what the train was/where it was going?
The next stop was Dean, again with a level crossing, where I took this shot. It may be nowhere near as good as ronik24's telephoto shots, but then again it was raining
Seconds later, the level crossing started so I ran back to the platform to watch two 158 Express Sprinters pass within a minute or two of each other.
Soon after when we were cycling along the valley a freight with three class 66s on the front passed. The wagons appeared to be just ordinary flat wagons, painted beige and black with yellow bogies; and the first two or three looked like they had a crane attatched. Does anyone know what this train was?
Then, we carried on to Salisbury, but we only stopped quickly as by that time we were wet and cold...
A few hours later we were on our way back, and the sun did come out briefly before it started raining again.
Apparently we missed another special train, from Salisbury to Leeds, by about half an hour, does anyone know more about it?
On the way back we stopped at Romsey for a while, where a Turbostar to Totton was waiting, and double-headed class 66s came through with a steel/rails train.
