I think this was the last Intercity DBSO so it was never in Anglia.

I can't believe they're repainting the Intercity livery with the ONE livery :( How silly can they get.

Yes your quite right, it was the last INTERCITY one, I never expected them to do that as crown point had lots of paint to use up, thats why AR01 was always in INTERCITY for all those years! Rediculous when you think about it, Mk2's not got long left, a heritage set to use for the 86 farewell's coming soon, I think someone has made a bad judgement call on this one!

Oh god. Interesting that only the DBSo is painted, wonder if this is because they are planning on using them with Mk3s until the DVTs have been converted. Either that or they are determined to get everything in their livery ASAP. In a way I'm glad the bloody SRA didn't allow FGE to fit door locks to some 312s and keep them until summer 2005 (or something like that) or they would probably end up in "one" aswell, although as they should be around until the end of the summer timetable, their is still time :-? .

I think the Blue and Dark Grey of the ONE livery is quite good. Its the god aweful multicolour sections that make it look like a playschool papier-mache model....

Is that a new English translation of the French 'papier-mache', used to descibe making things out of paper that has been soaked in water and then reformed?

It would look better if they took the rainbow off and made those doors a darker hsade of light blue, take the continential 319s for an example. Theirs doors fit in well with the new legislation about having bright doors.

Wonder who painted the two none passenger doors (guards door and "emergency exit" door, the second of which doesn't even have a handle on the outside) brighter? Wonder if the Driver's door on the other side is painted like that aswell? Just wait until you get people finding themselves in the guards office or finding that the door doesn't have a handle on the outside, or even in the cab. Then again, the very narrow group these contrasting doors benefit it can't be too much of a risk (i know 3 people who are "patrially sighted, none of whome have trouble finding doors on trains, one of whome is a guard, and two people who are blind, and they can't find the doors whatever colour they are in. It does have the advantage of showing all passengers which doors are passenger doors and which are not though, well in most cases anyway.

Then why as stated is the guards & emergency doors done, yet the brakevan doors, where people have to put bikes are not?! :-?

So maybe some 86's will be on 'one'! Now that will look stupid!

What a waste. Intercity was such a nice stylish livery, and now the last full rake of it is spoiled. One up point I can think of is that the DBSO doesnt look as old and tired now.
