Hi,

These pics were taken on Thursday, Friday and Monday, the last one from yesterday shows a special train with a green ÖBB 2050 (GM/Henschel G12).

The full parts can be found here:

Back to Lobau, finally the thing I have been waiting for: oil collector train from Stadlau yard to Lobau harbour. For those, 2050s have been reactivated because of many faulty 2043/2143s!

Now pics from yesterday:

First ones were taken early in the morning, on a line near my house usually just taken by freight trains from a big chalk quarry ending at Waldmühle. For this part I used a bike, later a friend took me up to the closed Waldviertel line Retz - Geras - Drosendorf a bit less than 100 km North of Vienna where this train ended.
Only negative thing was that the train went into the wrong direction for the time of day on the Waldviertel line...

Getting the special train rake with 4-wheelers to Waldmühle at 7 a.m.

A little experiment:
2 pics merged: one of the train during daylight, one of the surroundings at the time when I would like to have had it (1/2 hour earlier)

The chase starts...

You may notice the "hump" on the roof: 2050.02 is the only 2050 having it. These are actually just freight locos, located on the roof here is the train heating.

After Geras:

The "Show Curve". Mostly people already got off the train at Geras to visit an exhibition at a convent near there. Only some hardcore photographers and one filmer (having a VW van with ladder and platform on the roof!) kept on to Drosendorf as Geras only has one track. In this curve the train stopped several times and reversed again.

Reversing (I guess you wouldn't notice that! ;-))
