Hello,

Here you go, some pics from Friday and Sunday. Also some slightly nostalgic trains, sadly one nostalgic diesel loco stood idle at the shed instead of taking over one of them.

Full series can be seen here:
http://raildata.info/stuff/gwn040404/

Example pics:

On Friday afternoon I took a Schnellbahn from my home station Atzgersdorf-Mauer to Gumpolskirchen on the Südbahn

Schnellbahn being overtaken at Mödling

Gumpoldskirchen station, very straight bit with the only (short) tunnel in this area

VERY tastelessly colored Golf at the level crossing (just park here, the Taurus is already coming in the background ;) )

Through the vineyards

Another commuter train that will be parted at Wiener Neustadt, one part on the Aspang line (see my previous post), the other further on the mainline over Semmering Pass
Image

InterCity with Transalpin EMU from Vienna to Graz

ÖBBEuroCity with two Tauri in charge

Long auto train

Sunday morning the weather was worse, nostalgic 1010 with green Schlieren coaches as "Erlebniszug Zauberberge" at Mödling
Image

At Wiener Neustadt the train gets parted, one goes over the Semmering Pass to Mürzzuschlag (1010), two go on the branchlines to Puchberg am Schneeberg and Gutenstein (both 2016, one should have been green 2143.040)
Image

Using the one to Puchberg, 2016 for the train to Gutenstein is ready
Image

Getting out at the first stop, still in Wiener Neustadt, the sun is showing up
Image

The train to Gutenstein follows closely (the branchlines are divided at the next station, Bad Fischau-Brunn)
Image

Image

Regular train from Puchberg which I took back to Wiener Neustadt main station

Green 2143 at Wiener Neustadt shed

One of the smaller yards, a little further down the line

The train from Puchberg is coming back

Parallel drive, CityShuttle on Southern Railway and train from Gutenstein
Image

1142 with a lot of heat, Wiener Neustadt cathedral in the background (new, as the town was bombed in WWII)

Now the 5047 can proceed
Image

4010 with InterCity from Graz approaching

4010.019 is the only one with red numbers

Hi,

Paris - Vienna is EuroNight 263 "Orient Express"

Brussels - Vienna was an EN until last year, obviously not any more...
You have to take an ICE to Germany in the evening and then use either EuroNight 229 "Spree-Donau-Kurier" at Nuremberg (which is faster, but more unconvenient stepping over twice and getting the night train at midnight) or CityNightLine 313 "Donau-Kurier" (a private night train), just stepping over 1 time at Frankfurt.
