Travel by train in Sweden: Orsa - Sveg

Post by bonan »

I took a trip from my hometown Orsa up to Sveg, a distance of about 120 km (70 miles). The line is called Inlandsbanan (Inland Railway), it is a single-track unelectrified line with two passenger services daily, going from Mora via Orsa and Sveg to Östersund. Line speed is 80 km/h or 50 mph on this section. Enjoy the photos! :D

To give you all a slight idea about where we are...

The train is a class Y1 railcar. Constructed by Fiat and know among swedish rail enthusiasts as "Pizza Racers."

After a few minutes we are at Tallhed, the first stop north of Orsa and one of only 3 remaining passing sidings bethween Orsa and Sveg.
