My brother Graham Williams is an excellent photographer and some of his work got members drooling when I posted a selection of his work after Woodhead was mentioned as a possible RW3 route. So to avoid cluttering up that thread, I thought I would showcase some of Graham's excellent work from Guide Bridge and Reddish here.

The blue van (I remember the blue van) will have the electrical and the batteries, the other two will have timber and concrete. We used to have to go up to Godley and help unload sometimes, hard work which you used to try and disappear before the Supervisors could find you at Guide Bridge depot when booking on in the morning.

The EMU is for Piccadilly and its late morning, the second man is keeping an eye out for any inspectors on the Platform and about to make a run for it, hopefully booking off for a pint and home. It doesn't look like he wants any overtime by the way (coat on) he’s ready to exit the cab. The driver will stop bang on for the stairs and the exit without being seen. Now between the two trains I’ve described is Albert's 25 for trip working , this is why I know its morning, it’s the only engine in the stabling area in the day and was the trip Cl25 engine (Albert had an operation and work the light trips and could then get back to book off on time and do the things the operation removed) The trips were either Godley S&T, Georges Road for the Chocolate and scrap out of Stockport CLC or would trip things to Brewery Sidings on the L&Y. He use to go and pick up all the cripples wherever they were left and bring them back for repair either across the road at Guide Bride (opposite Aston Jc) or down at Ashburys, dependant on where the C&W wanted them.

The engine will set back over the crossover in the picture before moving into the stabling area on the down side.
