Mark,

Woodlesford brings back a few memories, used to go there from Leeds, often by train. Seem to remember the local steam trains were pulled by Stanier tanks, later replaced by the (then) new DMU's. Two highlights I can remember, waiting on a clear, cold, almost pitch-black winters night for the train back to Leeds, a Black 5 thundering through on an express freight and waiting with my Grandad, who was the local postman, to put the post on a local to Leeds. Train went straight through Woodlesford without stopping, seem to remember much cursing!! Always look forward to your videos, keep them coming.

Regards.

Hi Len,

Sounds great,my dad used to go to Normanton (Lived in Featherstone) regularly in the 60's,which as you will know is just down the road,he has often told of those tanks and from what i have seen they were great! I went on 46115 through there last year, and my did it belt through!! If only it was still the same :(

Cheers,
Mark
