The photos in the latest upload were mainly taken in the past five years.
One of my main reasons for going to Ireland was that they were about 20 years behind BR for modernization.
Until about four years ago virtually all the trains were loco hauled - then with the help of some European Union money they invested in a fleet of `carts`, sorry railcars. And that was the start of the end...
