My Historic Railway Photos
I've been posting more of my photos taken between 1959 and 1963 in a group on Facebook called 'Rail Thing - REAL Trainspotting (1945-1968)', so I know this won't be for all of you.
The first series of forty parts I called My Life in Trains, and I've included most of my better photos, many not seen elsewhere. This is the link to the first part, and each part has links to others:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/rtRealT ... 323812182/
After Christmas I've started on a new series that includes all my photos at stations and lineside locations - good, not so good and bad. I've called this Sequences because it shows everything I photographed on the day - currently I've posted 21 parts, and written about 40, and I'm less than half way through my photos. Link here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/rtRealT ... 175773195/
I'll produce another Sequences series of what I saw bunking sheds and works later.
I've drawn a good audience who seem to like what they see, especially during the lock down, so why not have a look. Might give you some ideas for scenarios and train formations.

Re: My Historic Railway Photos
Hi Alan
I think its a fabulous idea that you have decided to share your life's collection of railway photos with the public. Someday I would like to do the same with my own collection, which covers a more modern period (1974- present day).
But sadly I and many others will not be able to see your collection, as they are only available to Facebook Account holders. I am not, and have my reasons why I dont want to become one. I personally feel it would have reached far wider and bigger viewing if you had uploaded your collection to "Flickr" website. But no doubt you had your reasons why you didnt.
Thanks anyway.
Derek

I agree with Derek, I would love to see them as this my time frame.

Re: My Historic Railway Photos
If you aren't a Facebook member (I'm NOT; just like Derek I have a deep seated reason why) the photos are still accessible:
Follow the link provided by Alan, accept the cookies and click on one of the small images. You'll then get a series of the small images in that particular chunk. View them by clicking the left/right arrows on the photo window. When you've seen 'em all use the back button on your browser to get back to the page with the smaller images where you'll now find a link to the next chunk. ….and so on....

Great photos, very well done!
I particularly like the freight workings and the old Severn Bridge shots towards the end, and not having to sign in to FB.
Best regards

You have lost me ?
When I click on Alans link for part one it takes me to a facebook page with only two photos on it. If I click on either photo, I can view it, but any directional arrow forward or back simply takes me to the other of the two photos ? Where is the page with the "small images" on ?

That's because that page only has two photos on it!shinymac wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 3:29 pm Gary

Many of my posts have far more - follow the links to other pages, and Gary's advice will make sense, honest. You'll also see that I've tried to add captions to all the individual photos, as well as on the main page.

Re: My Historic Railway Photos
On the first Facebook page of My Life in Trains series, there are a couple of links at the bottom of the text, before the images. The first one is headed '[Link to My Life in Trains - Part Two' and the link is underneath it. If you can't see it, there might be a 'See More' button to click.peterfhayes wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 8:47 pm AlanI am US at FB so how do you do that? - I can't see a LINK to other pages! Many of my posts have far more - follow the links to other pages, and Gary's advice will make sense, honest. The Google links have far fewer photos than the whole of the My Life or Sequences series, and they have none of my back story.

If you can't find the link on the first Facebook page, here is the link to the second page. Each page has clearly indicated URL links forward and back to other pages.
