Hi Everbody
After looking on the internet I noticed Howes Models did a Class 142/143 sound chip. As I have 3 class 142s by hornby including the new Arriva 142 which I am detailing, I wondered what are Howes sound chips like as I would like to have one along side my Bachmann 66 and 37 which I am soon buying, which both have DCC sound.
Thank you
Jamie

Can't vouch for Howes sound projects other than from word of mouth from those that have used them.
General concensus is good, certainly on a par with SWD and Mr Soundguy.
Search on YouTube, somebody is bound to have posted it by now.
If YOU like it, then go for it.
It will be interesting to see when Hornby finally release their SOUND equipped locos, 56 and 60.
They are Howes sound projects under license.

Okay thanks

The Hornby 60 Sound was one of the locos I was going to get along with a 60 chip of howes for my other 60!

Regarding sound projects it's best to actually hear the loco's first.
They all have good loco's and bad one's an example is that SWD's 37 is regarded as being the better then the Howes 37 but the howes 20 is better then the SWD 20.

As with most things, it comes down to personal preference.
My only recommendation is LISTEN to the product and if YOU like it, thne go for it.
I would concur with Stephen that general concensus would favour SWD for the 37 and Howes for the 20.
But concensus is only that, a general feeling. Some people prefer the SWD 20 and some prefer the Howes 37.
