What type of 00 track is the best?
I'm due to start construction of my G.W.R. layout Cwm-Walton a fictional branch line in Wales. So I was wondering which track was the best value ie, cheap, easy to use/maintain, and is user friendly as I've only had expereance with snap-together track to this point.
What the engines are doing:
on the line:All engines with No. 8 pulling the new express
in the shed:None

While it's not entirely to scale (ie it's actually I believe 'HO', on which I stand to be corrected!), for convenience I personally think you can't beat good old Peco flexi. If you do eventually go for that, it would be an idea to in invest in some Xuron track cutters for when you cut the flexi lengths to your required sizes, I've found they make life alot easier.

You can now get the right scale points that are tothe right length and width for 00 gauge! Made by Peco as well, called high speed points or something like that...Better then those little ones!clay001 wrote:While it's not entirely to scale (ie it's actually I believe 'HO', on which I stand to be corrected!), for convenience I personally think you can't beat good old Peco flexi. to be honest you have one main choise code 100 or code 75. 75 is fine scale. The rail profile is much lower then code 100. If you have any old stock with large flanges you will have to go for 100 if you don't want to re-wheel. If you try old stock on 75 the flanges tend to run on the chairs. This is especially true for Lima diesels.
