I'm personally fed up of having to clean all our loco's by hand with an old Track Rubber, or running them round on the rails and waiting for the electronic rail cleaner to burn off the muck.

I read somewhere that you can get an electric wheel cleaner that does a great job of cleaning the dirt off your loco' wheels. It's a bit like an electronic toothbrush but with sharper bristles obviously.

Does anyone know if these exist, and if they do - what price are they and where you get them from?????

I use a fiber pencil which is (in my eyes) the best thing to clean wheels.

Hi I use a fiberglass pencel to clean my wheels but I hook 2 wires up to my controler then turn on the power touch the wires on the wheels and let them rotate as I hold the pencil on them. You can do it with your Track Rubber as well.

It's easyer with two people however. one to hold the wires and one to clean the wheels also its best to have the loco held in a loco cradle like the peco one to stop it getting damaged.

I'm going to get the simple Peco one tomorrow. It will do a good enough job for me.

When you get it, stick some crocodile clips on the end of the wires, it'll make it much easier to use, you can then just clip it onto the track or controller.

It works a treat, and in seconds the wheels are like new again! Worth every penny I paid for it!

Mind you, I don't know how long it will last before I need another one at the rate I'm using it!
