Looking For a couple of locos

Post by JonathonAG »

Hi,
for my model railway, i am looking for a couple of models:

A J36
Caledonian class 439

Does anybody know where i can get these in the uk for relatively good price, for 00 gauge, and preferabely also pre-nuilt, but kits aren't too bad, but i haven't got experience with kits. It doesn't matter on the livery, as i will probably be repainting them.

Thanks

Neither are made ready to run Jonathon. The only Scottish engine I am aware of is the Caledonian Single produced by Hornby many years ago.

If you saved up your pennies you could always get a kitbuilder to make one to your own specifications.

Regards

Dan

There was a nu-cast J36 kit around a few years ago, my grandad has built one :). Think DJH did a Caley 0-4-4T in the 1980's too.

J36 was made by GEM years ago. Not sure if it is still available.
It's an easy kit to build.

DJH make the 439.

Years ago one of the magazines published an article on converting a Hornby M7.
I've got one somewhere. Not the best I ever done but if I can find it I'll give you it.

If he gets £100 for it I'll sell mine.

Once I've finished it.
