looks good dont it - their grandchildren eventually got to hit the british steelwork thanks to FIAT... The APT-P - pre production fleet were built to iron the issues found in APT-E, once these had been eradicated - APT-S(quadron) or service fleet would have been introduced with all the refinements, ...

never thought of it as whining cats - they do sound like that though the MK3s, its the air bags working, their valves etc i guess...im sure Liz, phil, charlie etc are not at all bothered by it

im unsure where the HAL fits in with current stock available, The last HAL sandite/deicers were withdrawn years ago, Has possibilties on the NLL Backdate route.

She also looks the picture, guess some scrap runs can be set up in scenarios and dragged around to be dumped ready for runs to cutters etc

I read the manual, and had the same problem u did, bought it to a stop. placed in neutral did an aux trip/reset...then a set/reset on the desk, AC power systems kicked in, back in to forwards, notch 1, brakes off and ac power engaged no problem... the systems do fail, but its not that often that dua...

a demu was a regular on the early & late Kenny belles starting on the central side of CJ.then North London Line started their Flying meccano services from the far side of the CJ (plat 17 ??) to willesden... quite a useful bit of kit was the MK1 DEMU, I always felt the 210s were not given a fair crac...

the people u need to ask about the old selhurst survivors are the front seaters from SU & BI who actually operated em, each one was different, like an old minis each had their own personality, they were built and maintained by people and have a soul..unlike the autonomous machines that have replaced...
