National Rail Staff Railcard.
Gives me 75% off standard fares, free travel on Wightlink, discounts on P&O ferries and many discounts on European Rail.

I don't mean to sound too upper class
ooo I can beat that

Surely it wouldn't be efficient to run a class 90 and mk 3s between Waverley and North Berwick because surely it costs a lot more to run a class 90 than it does an EMU? Even though I'm sure receipts on the route are probably quite big and I'm sure it probably gets funding from East Lothian/Edinburg...

Fares are already very expencive in this country but if you know where and when you want to go its very cheap. Also some fares ...

If a train is crossing a junction it at more than 1/4 the original speed then its bound to reduce capactiy. yorkie2k has some good points, why do the close down the whole of a railway station, they just love picking on the railways. It is not 'lucky' the train stayed upright trains are designed to s...

Id find it quite worrying if I saw the driver of my train jump out and roll down the embankment. The driver of the GNER train at Selby (was it Selby) was half way down the DVT when the train hit the landrover.

Incidents like this are a direct result of the post-Thatcherite 'me me me' selfishness of society. 10 minutes of a person's life? Big deal. These days people have lost the art of self restraint and displaying patience. Fair point, still I thought they could of raised the barriers between the two tr...

A little bit of straight forward thinking goes along way. do you think a loco and carriages will have the same accerleration as a EMU?
