I am so glad Chiltern got that 20year franchise! They have done alot with that line and the only time I have experienced a late Chiltern Train is when they were double tracking that single track stretch. Also arent Chiltern the only operator to say 'f*** you railtrack' (back when it was railtrack) a...

Thats another point Virgin are wanting to move peoples luggage by road, d**k heads.

I agree TPOs will return thats no chance mail from the South can reach Scotland and be sorted within 24h/rz. On TPOs the mail is sorted as it travels but you cannot have a guy in a lorry doing that.

Not had the pleasure yet, the seat backs appear low in pictures which is always good on a train, makes it feel more open.

Whats this TOCs admiting HSTs are better than units for long distance journeys?

Sorry! I meant 2 and 3 car 165s, i thought the 3 car version is a 166 (but I have found out it isnt)

Its not TT that are removing 2 + 3, I read in Rail that Chiltern were in the process of doing it to much of their stock though.

They are refurbishing their 165 and 166's so seating is 2+2 throughout and no first class. The idea is to have a Club class which is surposed to be posher than standard but not first.

Fair point, there was an article in Rail saying how good our rail system it is just a) we dont know it or some of us dont at least e.g. me b) the media is very unfair on it.

It is strange how we just stop if we get any sort of weather, I know last summer we had some great extreemes and much of Europes rail system was affected but the swiss cope with snow and no doubt other countries they get two feet of snow and still run we get two inches and grind to a halt. Whats wit...

They are nice trains in real life, not to keep on the 2+3 seating in standard or the 2+2 in first class on some units but I can see why the did it since they do have to run in and out of London at peak times + they are wider then some other trains. Nice to travel on though and look good too. Dont li...

I do not wish to start a full blown argument but I think the govt. should of done something about the underground postal system in London everyone knows traffic is bad in London and although the system is small it must of taken a lot of traffic of the roads in the CBD. Admitidly I do love to blame t...
