Shadow Models

Hi all, Hopefully a simple set of questions. I'm building an item of rolling stock in 3Dsmax for RS and would like to add all the relevant shadows and highlights. I've read the dev doc about shadows and learned that in order for the model to project a shadow it needs a shadow model. I know from the ...

Re: MAX-Walking through in perpective view

Here at uni we use 3D Connexions Space Navigators to zoom around in the perspective view. They are so good (not to mention fun to use) that I had to go buy one for myself, they vary in price... I got mine off Amazon for around £40 iirc, but having just looked they seem to have shot up in price! :S T...

Re: S&D Modern (The Fictional version!!)

The OLE engineers I work with get really quite irritated when you add the pointless H :) Trust me, I've made that error. O ver H ead L ine E lectricity... Isn't Overhead one word? and I always thought the L stood for "Live"? Sorry if i seem picky, just curious :) Cheers Dave Im pretty sure its Over...

Re: Myth of MSTS back to creation program

Thats what I've always thought. But I'm pretty sure its been done - I can't imagine the author of the models which appeared in trainz would of given away his source files.

Cheers for the reply! :)

Myth of MSTS back to creation program

Hi all, I've recently been having problems with my PC, in the end out of rage decided to slam the factory restore disk in the drive and start again  as soon as my hard drive was reformatted a long list of things that should of been backed-up before hand flooded to mind :( included in this list...

Hey g0fthick,

http://units.fotopic.net/p49462437.html
Found this pic on fotopic to illustrate the reason behind why it looks like the mesh is pinched. Like quite a few MU coaches they have 'dents' at either end - at a guess, I would say its a mild form of streamlining?

Re: Class 168/170/171

You seem to be having quite a lot of mesh issues around the front. It might be worth reconsidering the mesh flow, although that's difficult to recommend without seeing a wire frame. Don't worry, horgy never seems to know what he is doing. But it always turns out good. Horgy the pilot that is....

Re: DD 40 X (wip)

Looks mighty fine!

I have a question though....
If a train with 4 wheels per bogie is a bo-bo.... and a train with 6 wheels per bogie is a co-co... does that make your loco is a do-do, a 1co-co1 or an a1a-a1a? :-?

Looks a beast!

Re: Snail Locomotive Works [Class 60 + 66]

Any news on the 60 or 67? Aint been any posts for a while. Thanks Jon Sadly im going to have to echo my post above. They'll get done one-day, I've still got a lot to learn about making, mapping models as well as the workings of RS. It could be a while before I get time to 'go back to school'.... I’...
