The traverser is correct, for didcot anyway. The track with sleepers on actually has a loco on it that moves the traverser. http://www.baldric.plus.com/didcot/maps/pictures/traverser.jpg i don't know what the gas works railway society would think of all those nice LMS locos in their yard. :D :D Tim

No4 has no train brakes whatsoever there is a hand brake on the tender and the steam brake on the loco which only works on the loco itself, think of it like a steam operated handbrake..

As the boiler of no4 was only built in 1987 (i think) its actutually in pritty good condition also the Dahuichang used very good water treatment so although the external appearance may suggest otherwise the boilers are kept in good condition. Basically from what I've heard the coal used in china pro...

I think the amount of steam leaks in the cab even exceeds some of the FR's locos. I know i wouldn't take a loco out with a gauge glass like that especially if its my only one:D

Considering the real FR already has at least 4 types of couplings in use i don't think another different real or virtual will make much difference :D Only the chopper types really need to be nearly the same height. The C2 looks like it has pin in the buffer and then a big loop would connect it to th...

Most of the ones in merseyrail colours have proper seats in but that dosnt make them any better. If you ask me (which you didnt :D) they should all be scrapped rather than inflicting them on anyone or anything else, whoever thought it would be a good idea to put a bus on a wagon should be shot. Horr...

Dont worry i was only intrested because i know mr health and safety isnt too keen on them because you can alter the setting quite easily. In fact thier are many stories from ye good olde days of people hanging teapots and things on them to get a bit more out of thier loco only for it to result in th...

Very nice indeed i have to say. Just out of intrest though does that new boiler have the orignal style Salter saftey valves on or have you hidden more modern ones inside the shiny thing.
Not been to the middleton for a long time will have to make a visit sometime.

It rebuilt beacuse it has walcherts valve gear no air smoothed casing etc etc not beacuse its in one piece. It's probably not as bad as it looks its just riley wil eventually have 4 mainline locos to look after so the chances of it getting rebuilt are slim, so there's no point it taking up valuble w...

Hope they've set the valves on that thing now. When it was on the FR it wasn't too keen on going backwards.

I love v1 of this route its a great thrash cant wait for the whole line it looks fantastic.
If you tried to stick your legs out on some british narrow gauge routes you'll probably end up a bit shorter when you arrive at your destination. :D
