I wasn't aware of this one Marc, can you give me some more details, screenshots and what browser/version/os you're using? Hi Matt, The forum is in its usual state as if I hadn't logged in - nothing appears out of the ordinary, with the exception of the text at the top reading: "Your browser has bee...

In my experience, using the back button, can lead to phpBB assuming all posts have been read by the user (Once that's happened, all posts show as http://forums.uktrainsim.com/templates/subSilver/images/folder.gif , instead of http://forums.uktrainsim.com/templates/subSilver/images/folder_new.gif , ...

MSIE and Forum Usage

Hi guys, I'm on WinXP-Home (SP2) using MSIE, and I've just discovered an error that prevents me from using my back button here on the forums. Using the drop-down list, I see a "Form" has been inserted inbetween the last page visited, and any page I'm currently on. This happens regardless of whether ...

The input from 3DTrains is interesting, since it would suggest more or longer stutters when loading tiles if too much is aliased. Does that imply that a table of parsed paths has to be stored in memory if aliased, but not if in the correct folders? I have confirmed the stutters while creating the S...

IIRC, the problem is due to Kuju hard-coding "lft" and "lftmnl" into the exe. Any left-hand turnouts that do not have either of these letters at the ends of their file names will not display properly in the switch monitor. I believe this had been discussed and tested long ago on TS.com.

Any speed implications? MSTS assumes each object and texture to be in their normal directories, and if not, then has to parse the file paths to load everything properly. Thus, anytime you use an aliased path, you decrease the overall performance of the sim - albeit measurable only when dealing with...

Do they have full Autumn colours and snow cover? Yes, these will be included. Is there any "expansion" on the route itself? No. Since the goal is to enhance/update the route without touching the TDB (so as not to affect activities), no extensions to the line are made. I guess you'll just have to wa...

I would hardly expect any MSTS commercial add-on provider to leap to their defence. In fact, I know of no commercial MSTS add-on provider with any time for Trainz and in most cases, that's putting it mildly. It's not that I haven't tried developing for Trainz (I was the first Trainz payware vendor ...

Diesel and electric physics are good Your opinion. As I mentioned above, Trainz cannot simulate realistic physics. MS never made source files available. I'm afraid you're misinformed. The MSTS CD contains, IIRC, over a dozen 3DS models used in the sim, and can be imported to most 3D apps. Realistic...

Trainz is still in development. Way ahead of MSTS in many respects but still behind it in others. Perhaps, but Trainz is far behind MSTS where it counts: physics. Auran admitted that their Trainz program, more specifically JET, was incapable of simulating the physics calculations for a true railroa...
