Re: EH2 Reskinners packs

Didn't they use mk2s on the cobbler runs for a bit too? Mk2A - C's? Or have I dreamt that one up? Usually all 10-13 vac only Mk1s, but 82-83 timetable 1B08 was a Mk2e set off a Blackpool-Euston, and then during the summer 1994 return there was a few weeks of Mk2d ('Special Trains Unit') stock in Ju...

Re: Peak Rail Diesel Gala 22/23rd September.

Shame the 'connections' as such out of the services from Derby are so bad. Ching out to get there and its a minus 5 at Matlock, cheers then! Given that there is only one set out couldn't some freight trips be sacrificed to ensure half-decent connections with Matlock BR?

Central do it a lot on the Cross City line, and I've been on a Voyager thats run fast from Birmingham to Reading to make up a 20 minute deficit. They do indeed, heading back to Selly Oak one evening I ended up RA Longbridge for bonus mileage!! Naturally I had just reached the bottom of the stairs a...

They should never have been allowed to cut the Rugby-Brighton back to Watford. By the time they pulled it loadings were good (although they had taken a year or so to build, but that is to be expected), and the Rugby/MK/Watford stops allowed much better connections than currently offered. Not only no...

Hmm, according to a photo I have at Bedford, it's 64 miles from St. Pancras, 16 miles less than KX to Peterborough, for some reason I've always thought Bedford is closer to me than it actually is :P. 49.8 miles by Platform 5 books. Seems a tad short - I wouldn't be impressed with WCML1 only doing E...

I have seen the latest video of this route in the Birmingham area and it seems to be quite good. The one thing that worries me is the style of signals used. They all seem to be 2 aspect with the green showing from the bottom aspect. I am not aware that these signals are used anywhere unless anyone ...

I recall being 'dragged' by a Fragonset 47 all the way from Brum to Milton Keynes due to a loco failure at Wolverhampton. Delayed by about 45 minutes, but the 47 worked the entire sevice from Wolves to Euston! 47s at one stage did occaisonally fill in for failed 86s on the Euston - New Street diagr...

Vid looks reasonable to my WCML trained eyes, although Northampton a tad rural. Any chance of the 'cage' at Roade over the slows though, it'd really make it recognisable.

With the new signals does this mean we have axelcounter failures every five minutes to contend with?!?

Is that a hint us WCML types may be keeping 1 or 2 321 sets?? Abbey flyer, given 350s not currently cleared for the branch?

I hope that's an old screenshot as - correct me if I am wrong - there shouldn't be wires there. After successfully taking the wires away in ECE3, you hope they've done the same with this route. http://www.europeanbahn.com/images/wcml/update1207/eb_bakerloo_screenshot1.jpg As for stock, like Jamie I...
