right as i started this i feel inclined to add another argument FOR virgin. I think that many of you are in the uper age catagory...now as a few of you know im 17 and have been since 27th december but im not a fan of these 'deltics' everyone loves so much, and i think that most of you are hung up on...

well at Preston they're calling them Challengers :) Last time i was there i heard the announcer person (still human!) announce the 2,5 HST set as a Virgin Challenger service (think it was to Glasgow). I see virgin are trying to glam up the HST's lol! Does anyone have any idea what the refurbishment...

Notsure how true this is....
but virgins challenger program has been canceled...(from what i read) by porterbrook due to virgin canceling a route and told the press before telluing porterbrook...so im not sure what happens now....?
are they JUST hst's now...?

no what i meant was like if the 390's were all need ed for a fleet check or whatever software problem , are they not gonna use the challenger s for normal use not as back up....?

i meant as the similar type of use to pendolino they would be top of the . older siblings to the new 390's

i will give that some thought cos you could not just leap in and say " well we would do this and we will do that and get rid of the other"
