Thanks. I see, same thing but in reverse! This is my first venture in considering construction of something in narrow guage and see the Welsh locos and rolling stock seem to be in abundance, but other routes such as Ravenglass or Romney Hythe are conspicuous by their absence. Even the NW Trains Rave...

I do not really want to become engaged in a dispute about adding sections to Finescale or any other sytem. But purely on the point of copyright, is it possible to copyright something that hasn't been invented or created? It is said that one cannot copyright an idea. Could a composer copyright his ne...

I'd make a copy of The flying scotsman, half it's scale in SFM, then paint it to look like one of the North Bay locos! Thanks for the suggestion. It sounds a good idea, but is it as easy as you make it sound? I've used TSM where you would need the original model to rescale it, but what is SFM pleas...

My ME system seems reasonably stable. XP ought to be better as it is supposed to throw out 'drivers' (no not train drivers!) that are uncertified (and probably train drivers who are!) Often it would be better if the s/w drivers stayed within the program they were written for. When they get changed b...

Re: MSTS under Windows XP - is it the work of Satan?

Evenin' all. Have just upgraded my system from W98 to WXP (having been told it handles memory better and can run faster), and, having gone through the hassle of re-installing most of my hardware drivers (incl. graphics and sound), I've got a bit of a problem. The thing is, if I'm, say, testing some...

If they are a purchased add on, how would it affect a route for distribution? Would those who download it also need to purchase the 'effect' too?

It would be a lot of effort to add a sound region to every set of points in some routes. Imagine doing it for Mid East?

It would be much better if the consists were kept with the route that uses them. Not much help for now, but could be on a MSTS2 wish list!

For a time I had MSTS installed on an external USB2 hard drive - it ran without problems, and add ons usually installed OK. I seem to remember there were some badly written installers that assume it is on C: regardless (possibly batch file installers?) but normally it shouldn't be a problem having i...

Scarborough North Bay Railway

I am thinking about adding the North Bay Railway as an aside on my Scarborough Whitby route. Can anyone who is familiar with it advise if there are any suitable locos and passenger coaches available for Narrow Guage? If no one claims to have has seen it, I'll post a photo! The locos look a little li...

Re: Steamers on Eastenders

It is the Llangollen, the engine is Black 5 44806 with LMS lettering on the tender pulling a few maroon mark 1's (to complete the wartime atmosphere ;)). Had another look at my Railways Restored book and see 44806 wasn't built until 1944. So it wouldn't have existed when the WW2 evacuation took pla...

VFR Photographic Scenery - Millenium Map data

It is now possible to purchase VFR Photographic Scenery for MS Flight Sim (MSFS) (from http://www.justflight.com ). This scenery is derived from the Millenium Map where aircraft flew over the UK at 3000ft and compliled as an aerial map. For MSFS this is a useful add on as it give ground textures tha...

Thank you all for confirming my supposition. Will have to change my user name to Sherlock Holmes! Railways Restored 2002 in hand! When I last past that railway, they had only recently purchased the station, and had no line at that stage. Yes I'm going back quite a bit! Made for a different typ...
