The point was that if on a freeware route you use lots of default shapes then research and field trips are not as necessary....hence overheads are always less. Jon I'd like to take issue with some of that. A comparison is being made here like some compare professional photographers to amateur photo...

I have just looked at the IOM route this author has made and note that it contains some YCR items. I believe these have been used with permission but it would be appreciated if the author had credited the source of these items by including the original documentation. Again, no wonder items get remov...

Me too! I have given the odd permissions to use some of my objects from the YCR that are not available in the download library. I may even have said OK to do what he likes with the route for his own purposes (such as someone who wished to change the level crossings), but that wouldn't extend to redi...

twomanydjs is editing the route as we speak. he will get it finished as soon as he visits the line and takes pictures, he has reskinned and made some custom nymr locos including lambton tank No29 http://www.freewebs.com/robbo25/projects.htm It would be preferred if anyone adapting the YCR got in to...

A quick Google search for 'nymr gresley 100 gala' brings up http://nymrphotos.fotopic.net/ and a few others. This site has an index of stock here: http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-directory.php The route signalling is set for two way working so that may cause problems with AI traffic. The YCR has s...

Re: yorkshire coast cd
Bought this great cd last year, just wondering if the 2nd part will be coming out (from kettleness to middlesbrough). Oh the cd is one of the community ones. Never say never, but it isn't imminent! More likely it will be worked on for one of the new sims. It would take a good while to do and by the...

There was a direct route from York to Hull, long gone now though, but a feasibility study was recently done about putting some of it back. I'm sure it would be a good route to build in MSTS. The route came out of York to the north on the Scarborough branch, turning off quite early to Market Weighton...

Can I just point out to one and all that the YCR does not include any problem objects - I had to take these objects out last year! Something just has to be done for users to know what objects are uploaded in good faith for the community to use for all time, and what is uploaded as a demo of an autho...

I'm pretty sure the problem came from two users, one NTL, one BT Broadband. I think the NTL source may be something to do with my registration on a Benelux site and the BT Broadband ones from a user where I have requested permission to use objects in the route. I hadn't woken up to the danger of usi...
