they had to change the firing order of the cylinders on the 47s soon after introduction, but they were't derated for quite some time after that.

let's not forget that the first diesel hauled royal train had a 31 on the front. and it failed. (which is embarrasing, really, high profile job, and all)

don't laugh, it's probably true...

i heard they were up to 11k between failures now. which is still pants. better than 2k though!

that would seem the obvious answer! but why it's on the through roads i don't know (i though every domestic train through there stopped at ashford, but i guess i was wrong....)

what happened to the 12 car 458, by the way? went and set up loads of testing equipment on the subs and then it never ran...

it's nothing to do with me but that is ashford international. the OHLE is for the interntaional platforms, giving NR Southern Zone just about every type of electrification imaginable! (OH DC? not yet...)

as for why an SWT train was there, well...
