Re: More buses, please! :P
You might be in luck. although most of my buses so far have a connection with my Stockton route, I am actually more interested in classic London buses, such as the RF, RT, RM, and the not so classic, the SM and DM types. The only problem is I'm back in the UK for 9 months and my computer is in stora...

Re: Maya + RW?
You don't always need to go on a course to learn things ;) I'm too am a Maya user and have learned just enough 3DS Max to get my stuff into Railworks. You could do the same with Blender, i.e. you don't need to become an expert on the whole package, just learn enough to get what you want out of it. K...

Re: Best way to unwrap an object ?
With complex cab fronts, that is true, but the rest of the train is often just a bunch of boxes and cylinders. I've looked at some of the default textures and was surprised to find seemingly every nut, bolt, flange and miscellaneous bit of metal claiming it own piece of texture, with lots of blank s...

Re: Best way to unwrap an object ?
Same here, I've never unwrapped anything in my Railworks creations. Theres no point with so many flat and single curved surfaces, and unwrapping is very wasteful of texture space. I'd only use it for texturing creatures. I've also never used UV unwrap in Canvas (or used a third party application) an...

I agree, although we didn't seem to think so at the time!

Re: My Railsimulator assets
I too like the old National, but they weren't around in the period I'm working in. However I might get around to making one eventually. Kevin You wouldn't happen to have had "Leyland Nationals" where your modeling them from, epsecially the ones with the lump on the back of the roof, loved those old ...

Re: Southern/BR Q1 Class
maybe not http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USRA_0-6-0 There might be even more powerful examples than this. It's just the first one I found that had a higher tractive effort than the Q1. It also beats the Q1 in the ugliest locomotive competition! Hi i think the Q1 was the most powerful 0-6-0 ever built ...

Manchester Longsight had a small allocation of 02s in the late 60s.

So they are, the one folder I must have missed! Therein also lies my answer to the Scottish problem. Sc is done with a texture, which will soon become NE. Thanks, Kevin a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, u, x, y Those are the names of the textures for the name boards. ...

Class 101 destinations
I intend to reskin some of the class 101 special destinations,( the ones too long for dynamic numbering that RSDerek textured instead). but I can't find the .tgx file. I've looked in every folder within the main one: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\Class101Pack\RailVehic...

Sorry, I just spotted this post and I think the slabs you are referring to are mine. I'll take a look at the LODs and resubmit them. Kevin I am wondering if anyone is interested in answering my plee from a previos post. Also, does anyone know of any good concrete slabs I could use, at the moment I a...

Re: RW not alone anymore
I assume you are referring to the steam loco render on the wall, and RR crossing sign. The former was done by a member of the Cascade team while at Microsoft, and the sign belongs to Rick Selby. Both are train fans and I'm sure they are keen to see some sort of railway content come out of the new co...

Re: problem converting object to .IGS
I changed the shaders to texdiff and it loaded up fine. So it looks like it is a problem with a shader or texture setting as Karma99 suggested. The reason it is called Example_Engine.IGS is because I started by copying the Example Engine folder and thought it unwise to change the names once I got ev...

Re: My Railsimulator assets
Sadly yes I did know that. All thanks to the policy of the General Manager, which was to scrap buses rather than sell them to a potential competitor. They would have fetched a much higher price on the secondhand market. I wonder what the ratepayers would have though of that if they knew. Yes I did m...
