Mrs. Santa dropped one in me sock called:
BR. Wagons Their loads & Loading. (Silverlink books)

Good detailed pictures, & the text as plenty of tec. detail about the problems out of gauge loads. For me this is what railways were built for, & if your interest is freight, then this is the book for U.

How did you get on with sorting your sound card out ?

I had the same prob. I ran :- dxdiag to get the DirectX diagnostic tool, & then reduced Hard/W. acceleration level.
The sound now works outside on the locco, but the 5.1 sound does not.

I agree ! 3 times I've had enough ! I will not be buying another Tranz again. UTC. was a great improvement, the only scenario I kept going back to was Proteus Yard. I can't believe they have sold the same old scenarios to me again. Their track style is my pet hate. There is not one bit of improveme...

I've put me hand into me pocket, & bought it, & I'm well pleased, it does have a DDR look to it. All you need is Harry Palmer waiting for a train at the Berlin station. You do need a a PC with a bit of power, also the track is ruff in a few places, & the open country is wide open country it could do...

"Legends between Spree and Oder"

Anyone had any experiance with this add-on ? "Legends between Spree and Oder" I see it is about to be released in English, it looks good. Plus there is a good of selection loco's, even some Polish suff. So far none of German add-ons that I've bought have been a disappointment. So I may risk it & par...

Multiple ZIP files are fine.
But not those split Zip files that were used on Bala, Blaenau extension, caught me out. I never even knew you could split a Zip.

I've just down loaded Welshpool with no probs.

I'm glad you have you have decided to lay track up to Ellesmere Port. The pictures of the Octel road crossing look good & will capture the atmostphere (phew ! :-?) of the area when the industrial plant is added. Will the line be stopping at the road overbridge @ E.port station, or will carry on down...

I always thought that the early DMU's used on Cambrain route were Vac. braked. I found the tutorial on vac. brakes for steam very helpful, the 3 positions of the brake are well explaned.
Tutorials are bottom left on the UK train home page.

Is Cambrian Coast so much better than Ruabon NO ! I think the 2 routes are very good, there is no repeat really, because where they both over lap they offer good views of how railways have been rationalised over the years. For the better, or worse. Mind you in Ruabon, I reconise a chippy by the sta...

Thanks for that answer Deltic,
Not being able to do any thing other than basic shunting, I will mostly lose interest MSTS. activities. Even thou Tranz does offers a bit more flexibility, I don't seem to able enjoy it's table top style routes.

Roll on the next version of MSTS.

AI trains & cutting

Is it possible to have a AI train pull into a siding, then wait, & the player driven train cut a few wagons off, or on the back end ? I have tried to do it but the AI train does not seem to want wait for period that is set, it pulls forward, & vanishes. The head shunt is to small for the uncut consi...
