It's more by luck than design that the name is intriguing. When I began using Route Editor and geographt extrator last October, I had many false starts-each were numbered and I ended up at '35' Not actualy 35 tries but close:). Anyways the name stuck so I'm glad you like it:)

Further developments...
I posted some screenshots over at train-sim.com. I will try to upload the route to the file library tonight (should be about 13.5 megs)

In the 'texture selector' window hit the 'edit' tab and then 'insert' browse for a suitable texture (you may have to copy these in from another route-they're in the terrtex folder)

In route editor under the window menu open the 'texture selector' window. Press 'f7' or use your mouse to pick the sixth box in the 'mode' window. Now is the part where you can change the colours; click on the tile and press a number that corresponds to the swatch in the 'texture selctor' window. Or...

The voice of the people has spoken.... Just as an update, I have taken your advice and will try option 'B' It was actually a very pleasant experience writing to the 3D model authors and recieving their permission...now if I could just figure out what those 'for route builder only' buttons do in rout...

3irty-5ive New Route

Hi, I was planning on trying to release a steam-era goods traffic route I've been working on off and on since October of last year. I thought I should get it out the door before MSTS2 arrives. Anyways, It's a small single tile layout that uses some default MSTS buildings and some custom buildings do...

In the route editor you should always see those red boxes and green markers. In the game though you shouldn't see the red boxes. Although it's little help to you, the route editor crashing should not be related to not getting rid of the boxes around your forest. That said make sure you click on some...

Hope you've fixed your problem by now;
But if you haven't I imagine that your problem is from caused by the activity. Do you have all the stock installed that is required by the activity?
You can use Route Ritter to check I think. Do a search for it here if you don't have it it's worth downloading.

As for the movie maker; there is some software that you can use for many games - FRAPs, haven't used the movie maker function but i knowthe framerate monitor works.

ash888, was thinking about a couple of points that may be of interest to you: 1)If you use the default track sections you will be able to share your piece of work with a wider audience. Perhaps people who don't follow the UK scene (why they wouldn't I don't know) would be put off by having to instal...

Maybe there's some good stock here for downloading.
It'll be better than downloading Japanesse Bullet Trains or using timetables from a country 6000kms away.
Proper catenary masts everything-hats off to those guys.
Best of luck with route!
Cheers.

Has anybody compared how a given PC runs MSTS on XP vs 98se? I think it would be faster with 98 but by how much?
I guess if anyone's tried it with other games that would also tell something.

Following the suggestion of database- I think that amount of stuff in the download section is amazing and will get to be more so as time passes. Eventually the method of organzing the downloads will not be ideal. I think this's site download area is much better organized than TRAIN-SIM.com but alrea...
