don't bother wasting your money or time waiting for the new PCI express cards. PCI Express won't kill AGP anytime soon. The same with SATA; just upgrade to a new IDE drive -hard disk performance improves faster than many other technologies. SATA is a great technology (like PCI express) but the exist...

Looks like I may have been wrong about the spectacle plates. I don't have many books or magazines here with me so I really can't check any Raven locos but I ran across a phot of a GNR Ivatt that used split specatcles simillar to the ones shown in the 3D model. http://www.nelpg.fsnet.co.uk/t3/ Here's...

yeah I have no doubts that it is inddeed incredibly complex issue and would require a global strategy. But the Tsection.DAT is a little like that even if only a few people actually develop stuff for it. And there are those who break the rules even for that. Anyways it's a drag MSTS didn't work it ou...

Default Install Folder Names - New Rules
Hmm since MSTS2 is suposedly compatible with MSTS in many respects including stock. I wonder if it makes sense for us to developsome kind of standards or naming convention or taxonomy for the add-on train folders. Without a standard it really makes a mess of your MSTS trainsets folder and that in a ...

Actaully there is no reason to Flash your BIOS if your computer is working fine. I accidentally wrote that while I was blabbering on. I think you spotted the fact that it is most times un-necessary but maybe you should atleast check if there are any updates and what's inside. Borrow a UPS if you're ...

Hi, Just wanted to say that I think the loco looks great. I hope I'm not too late to be helpful but I was wondering about the windows on the front of the cab. I might be wrong but I don't think they had the diagonal line seperating the spectacle plate into two parts. If you got it from the drawing t...

. computers - the monologue
Been reading many posts where people write in and say that they are ashamed of their computers and also people who write in and brag about their great computers. Both are equally tiring and equally inconsiderate. Anyways, that said there is more to computers than hardware believe it or not. It may n...

Perhaps there were two-2's :)ha. Well anyways this number 2 was a Class B designed by C.Clare and built in 1890 at Stoke Loco Works, according to the article, and was rebuilt in 1906 with a standard boiler and later became 1447. The author seems to have done his research and refers to a few books , ...

I made some movies for fun and free too using freeware programs FRAPS and VIRTUALDUB. Both are really excellent tools. To reduce the file size there are a few shareware programs to download that will allow you to create MPEG 4 etc but have limits like 5 min of video which is fine if you're going to ...

Can't select big object in RE
I just started friggin around with the GMAX trainsim pack and it's pretty fun stuff. I made three little boxes and brought it into the sim no problem. I then tried to do a trail run for building some civil engineering works and built a big retaining wall. It comes into the sim but once i place it i ...
