I think the reason for that (if you are refering to the Fixed Distants in your pack of May 2003) is that they are NORMAL type signals rather than DISTANCE type signals.

As regards SHUNTING and REPEATER type signals, I seem to remember that my investigations (when I was to doing the Indicator Signal pack) didn't show any difference in operation between the SignalFnTypes REPEATER, INFO and SHUNTING. I would also point out that any of these SignalFnTypes seem to requi...

Hi Simon, No, it doesn't mean you have to run the Activity before RouteRiter finds the file. You don't even need to run RouteRiter. All you need to do is use the Go! button in Train Store (Simulation Mode) before running the MSTS simulation. By installing an Activity, you have made changes to the MS...

Indicator Signals Pack
I was thinking about adding some additional items to this pack. In the previous packs I have commented that the kit was experimental. So far, I have not received any notification of any problems using the pack, so I shall remove this caution unless someone tells me there are problems caused by it. (...

Train Store V2.0
Version 2.0 of Train Store has just been uploaded (including Language Packs for Dutch, French and German languages), and is awaiting approval. (Danish and Spanish versions are being worked on) This version of Train Store will be of particular interest to Activity builders and Route builders. Using T...

I doubt if there is much wrong with your installation of the kit. (errors would tend to throw up error messages on starting up). Don't forget these Indicator signals are a completely different "function" (SIGFN_) of signal. i.e. INFO. It may be that MSTS uses storage based on signal SIGFN_. Perhaps ...

Erm...yes you do if the modified stock will overwrite other users stock! We are back to that thorny issue and people tearing their hair out because my route install has just changed some of their stock from auto couplers to chain, or whatever. Separate folders also gets around the 899 consists limi...

I know that all of you are experienced developers and expert in the field. If you start from the point of already keeping separate folders, and you have, and are happy with, maintaining a high degree of organisation, then I can understand you will probably not be interested in Train Store. But, I th...

I am sorry, but there is something I don't understand. That is, why, do they need separate MSTS folders? The stock items they are talking about are different from the originals so they can either go in their own folder in TRAINSET, or the same TRAINSET folder as the original model. (the file names w...

I don't think so. The programming could be done, but I don't believe there wouldn't be any point to it. The model that MSTS uses to handle Routes and Stock Items is, I think, very good. It minimises the overheads of storage (A Stock Item can run on any Route), it minimises any administration effort,...
