Well hopefully someone will develop a panel or controller for the next version (if Kuju makes provisions for one). It would make alot of simmers VERY happy. 8) :drinking: Using a keyboard for a train sim is just strange. Here I am playing train sim on a $50,000 home theatre and I still have to use a...

Its strange that MSTS doesn't accomodate a joystick (or other future train oriented control device). Perhaps its as you say the controls are a bit specialized and a joystick simply wouldn't cut it in my book for realism. I would love to see a mini panel come out that simulates the controls of ...

Throttle controls (joystick) for train sim
Are there any throttle controls or perhaps even simulated train controls (like a joystick controller) on the market that will work with MSTS?
I have seen some for flight sims. Would the flight sim throttles work?

Thanks
Thanks. I will see about increasing the volume of the wav files. I don't need to increase it alot. Perhaps a combination of editing the .sms file and wav files will bring it up to normal levels.

Quiet consists
My consists are too quiet. I need LOTS of rail noise. 8) I am using the railsounds package from railwaves and they sound decent enough (even if all the cars sound the same). But I find I need to crank my home theatre system to hear it. I would like to equalize it more in relation to the external noi...

Assistance needed - Steam engine will not move
I have a few steam locos that will not move an inch even if they are without a consist. I believe it may be an error in the .eng file. I have tried everything I can think of in terms of using the manual fireman and trying to build up steam but I don't seem to be getting enough steam pressure. I then...

Thanks
Thanks again. Its interesting how they developed this particular design of loco. But for tight curves it makes sense.
I imagine they would have known that tractive effort would decrease as coal and water was used up and therefore planned for it or adjusted the length of the consist accordingly.

Garratt question
I was just doing a little reading on the Garratt. Unfortunately I have not been able to find out WHY a locomotive such as this was designed. I know it was first used in britain and that it was a powerful loco but why would you design a loco to carry the water/coal on the engine chassis instead of in...

wheel skids
Is it possible in MSTS to skid the wheels of a steam engine when coming to a stop? In other words if I am at full speed how do I lock the wheels and skid them? I just wanted to try this to see if it could be done. :) I tried the emergency brake and also tried throwing it into reverse but it just slo...
