Re: Stanier Jubilee released on steam
I've just bought the Jubilee. Its a fantastic model visually. But i have to say that the 3 cylinder sounds are a bit of a let down! Yes there are 6 beats per wheel revolution but the proper rhythm is absent. And once the loco is beyond say 15-20mph it starts to sound like a knackered washing machine...

RS/RW whistles update now available
RS/RW replacement whistles update now available to download. Please accept my apologies for mistakes in original upload. I hope it works properly now. If you're using there in RW you'll need to back-up the edited files because when steam updates the edit will be lost. Any problems then post here and...

Re: Help required with Replacement RS/RW whistles
I'm not sure how. The updated instructions are accurate now. Is there any need for it to be RPK?

Re: Help required with Replacement RS/RW whistles
Thanks for what you've done here. I'm going to tweak the 7F whistle and doc a little and re-upload. I admit the 7F whistle isn't brilliant. It's the only recording of a fowler whistle i have. I'm going to try and find a better one at http://www.steamsounds.org.uk . BTW i've used some of what you've ...

Re: Help required with Replacement RS/RW whistles
I apologise for error in instructions! I'm confused though because my instructions are what i did to make my whistles work on my machine. I wasn't aware that there's no need to edit proxybin file. Perhaps i should withdraw the upload and take another look at it. Sorry guys! Matt(92212)

Re: Help required with Replacement RS/RW whistles
Yeah edit those 3 dav lines. Make sure you've got .wav on the end. I made that mistake when i first edited it! With the black 5 one you just need to edit just one line in the same way. I'll have a think.

Re: Help required with Replacement RS/RW whistles
Hmmm i don't know what to suggest. I didn't use RS tools to use whistles. I just edited the files in their location. Doubt that would affect it but worth a try? Sorry you're having problems. Hope you get them working.

Re: GWR Hall Released on Steam!
I was thinking of improving the regulator actually, I may do this now. Also I don't follow what you mean by swooshing, sorry to sound like a n00b but I need to know which part of the train makes this sound before I can realistically implement it. "snifter valve" - If that's what it's called then ye...

Re: Community sound team?
Well if nothing else this and similar discussions has got something happening in the sound department! The Hall sounds are great! Lets hope similar sound improvements are in store. Sound is one of the few things that needs improving to back up this recent statement from RSC "Continuing our promise t...

Re: Community sound team?
Very kind! First thing i'll do is go through the steamsoundsuk site and find some more whistles first. Then i'll track down some other sounds. I'm gonna need help getting them into the sim though. Re: Replacement whistles
Sounds great, well done, nice to have a different whistle for the five, never liked the other one. Would it be possible in steam sounds to have it only last as long as you press space, like in the class 25 sounds that were uploaded were it would only loop the horn if you held a long time. I hate it...

Re: Community sound team?
I've sent an e-mail to steamsoundsuk to ask permission to use his sounds. I'm sure it'll be fine as some of his sounds were used in msts but at low quality because thats all msts could handle. Now, RS/RW can handle the best quality of sound so imagine these sounds in RS/RW: Odney Manor departs Watch...
