Good point, Edmund.
I am a smoker, and I must say, I find it hard to understand why loco hauled trains are completely non smoking. I can understand it on a multiple unit I suppose (although SWT used to allow smoking on thier services).

No voyager bashing? Awhhh!! OK. I have travelled with both companies, both long and short distance (although only ever VXC) GNER Plus Points - HST's and 225s. I think the 225 gets the edge, but only just. Staff. I have never failed to be impressed with GNERs staff. Even when the panto failed on a 22...

Similar to Mark's trip via London..... I have twice travelled from Nottingham to Edinburgh on the train. The first time, just a simple change at Grantham. The second time, I discovered it was cheaper for me to travel 125 miles south to London, and come back on myself to get to Edinburgh (saved me ov...

I think the Eurostar livery is a little on the bland side, but to be honest, I think they would be better off trying to make the interior better. I have only ever travelled on one 373, on a GNER service from London to Grantham. I must say, I think I'd rather have been on a 150 DMU. Perhaps its just ...

Meridian Diagrams
Hi folks.
My apologies if this has been posted already, but I'm useless at searching the forums!
Can anyone direct me to details of the 222 diagrams? I want to take a trip on one in the near future.
Cheers
Gary

Hmmm. What else would I like free on First Class...... Try travelling on a GNER first class service. They've got it sorted! Free tea / coffee / some soft drinks, munchies, paper, and on the Mk.III and 'Mallard' coaches, power points. I agree with Pete - a free copy of RAIL would be great (as would t...

Wow. I had no idea a V2 of the route was being created (I only received the V1 CD last week!) I'm not a GWR expert by any stretch (although I have travelled the GWML several times recently) but I must say, Bristol Temple Meads looks fantastic, and the fact that over 1,300 miles of track have been la...

Hi. Like I said, I read that MS were not going to allow SP2 on CD in a mag article. I conceed that the mags can be wrong!! :D As for SP2 slowing down my system - I don't use a software firewall, as I have a hardware solution built in to my router. I'm still not sure what is causing the slow-down. Bo...

Hi. Yeah, I think SP2 is pretty decent. Not too bothered about the security centre (I already know what firewalls, anti virus etc are all about) but I like the pop-up / activeX blocker. Oh, and just as a quick note, it's unlikley that SP2 will be released on any cover CDs. Microsoft are very picky a...

Hi folks. Just a note about monitor drivers..... It doesn't always make a big difference, but with my AOC, it makes a huge difference. The standard XP drivers for pnp monitor are sooo picky about refresh rates, and stuggle to pick up the GTF singnal from the monitor. Installing the proper drivers (b...

Hi Anton. Just a quick thought..... do you have drivers for your monitor installed? When you install new graphics drivers, it will re-detect your monitor, and has a tendancy to install a generic 'Plug & Play Monitor' driver. I've got the FX5600 Ultra 128mb, using the same drivers. It's actually impr...

I've had SP2 since RC/1 (and yes, I did actually report some bugs!!) MSTS has been fine with SP2, as has a whole load of 'old' software that I use. However, since the full release was installed on my system, it has slowed down a heckuva lot. Gonna try to figure out whats happening before I un-instal...

OK, at the risk of hostility towards myself...... I'll reply to a few of the topics discussed here! The 220 / 221 looks great - Not the most pleasent ride in the world, but the climate controll is good, and the power-points are handy (oh, and 1st class on a voyager is a waste of time!) I don't know ...

220 / 221 / 222
Hi Folks.
I was wondering if anyone intends to make a decent model of any of the 22x trains?
The existing units are OK, but the lens flare on the front of the cab really spoils things.
I have photos galore of 221's if anybody wants them!
Cheers
