Re: Wifi trains: who has tried it?
I've tried it quite a few times when it was GNER. Very hit and miss in my experience, and performance wise, I thought it was similar to an old 64k ISDN line.

Re: Class 158
Looking very nice. That cab certainly reminds me of many a trip to Norwich in those things! One thing though - not sure of exact dates, but I'm fairly certain the DRA (and possibly the sander) was retro-fitted, so might not be quite right to have one for the RR Express varient. This is a very minor ...

Re: How to remove shine from Locos
The shine is usually controlled by the texture mode, rather than the texture itself. You can change the texture modes using Shape File Manager by Paul Gausden. A good tutorial is here - http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsim/tutorials/sfm_faq.html. Just remember, if you intend to upload any altera...

Far North - Standalone CD vs Compilation CD
Hi Folks. Just a curiousity I'd like to satisfy if possible. Is anyone able to tell me the differences between the two version of Vern's Far North routes? I have the v1.0 'Standalone' version on UKTS CD, and I notice there is a v1.5 'Special Edition' on Vern's 5 Route Bundle. Hope you all had a dece...

Re: Dorset Coast V5
At last - Portsmouth to Waterloo! I haven't done a full run on it yet, but one can safely assume that if it's by Dave C, it's top quality! Had a run from Waterloo to Clapham, just to test my new system out - got around 10fps on max settings. My old system would crash if I tried to approach Waterloo ...

Try heading over to - http://www.hstgen.co.uk/
Plenty of certified HST (Valenta!) nuts on there, plus quite a few drivers, fitters, depot staff, the whole lot. The folk on there have helped me out in the past
Cheers

Re: The way it should be?
Bah - bunch of IC Exec 91s and HSTs - then it'll look decent
A biased opinion no doubt, as I've never seen a Deltic out on the mainline. Nice screenies though
Cheers

Re: Cannot install EB Hertford Loop
Sounds to me like it can't copy the said file from the CD.
Perhaps try checking for dirt on the disc, and give it a clean. Otherwise, it might be a faulty CD.
I'm no longer with EB, so please don't take this post as any kind of response from them!
Cheers

Re: Anyone been on a Pendolino?
I've done the full Euston - Glasgow run in 1st class fairly recently. Excellent ride quality, although the seats are not the comfiest I've been in.
As for standard class - I refuse to use them. I'm only 6' 2", and it's actually painful for me to sit in standard due to the lack of legroom.

Re: MSTS on Widescreen Monitors
If it's of any help, my desktop TFT has a 7ms response time, and the picture is crystal clear.
A good way to really put the TFTs response through its paces is with dxdiag, and get it to run the DirectDraw tests
