I agree the water is too blue, I had it originally plain black but that didn't look right either. I'll keep working on it. If we ever crack the moving boat thing, here's the next challenge: have it pulled along by a hauling horse :) The luggage van has been out a while, you can get it from the downl...

I suspect you can put a road section just below the water surface and model a 'car' in the shape of a boat - it will then cruise along. No user control, though.

Gooische Stoomtram Route in progress

Well, it had to happen and I've started on the route 8) Here's a few screenshots: Through the Linnaeusstraat in Amsterdam: http://www.snijderj.btinternet.co.uk/linnaeus.jpg Past the Gooische Stoomtram head offices and sheds on the Middenweg (Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer): http://www.snijderj.btinternet...

Here's my attempt - note that I took the screenshot very skilfully to disguise lots of imperfections yet to be ironed out :)

A canal, a cow, a steamtram and even a pub just around the corner - what more do you need?

I am also building canals for my Dutch route, and seem to have taken the same basic approach as you, an oblong shape lowered into the landscape. My initial way of making bends is simply to join two straight segments in a kink.... not very sophisticated, and it shows. You can perhaps put in some plan...

Yeah, you're right, I just figured it out myself. I had deleted a point and of course that invalidated the path and the one and only test activity.

Quickly fixed up a new activity, phew, all back to normal :D .

Thanks anyway for the help!

Route has vanished!

After an editing session in RE, which seemed OK, I saved my route and made a backup. After that I edited a bit more and saved again. However, when I then wanted to test the route in MSTS, the thing has completely disappeared from the list of routes to choose from! It's just no longer listed, althoug...

Renewed Henschel Stoomtram engines for download

I have just updated my Gooische Stoomtram loco nr. 14 to V1.2, and also uploaded a younger sister, no. 16. There are improvements in the glazing, the lights, a flickering firebox, more responsive controls, additional roof fittings, a water pump, and a few other odds and ends. No. 16 is very similar,...

Reason I asked is that I was toying with putting a passenger view in the loco itself - guess that is not such a good idea then since it would overrule any and all coach views I would ever produce!

It's a tram, so the curves are sometimes very sharp. The bodylength is more in keeping with continental practice where goods vehicles tended to be longer than in Britain, so therefore you get this strange match of a long body on a short wheelbase. Gooische Stoomtram 6

Here a preview of some of the goods wagons I'll be uploading soon. These are two open sand wagons, with and without cargo, a closed van and an open flat car. http://www.snijderj.btinternet.co.uk/goeder.jpg I am also finalising a model of engine 16, very similar to no. 14 I made before, but which was...

Cannot load this car....

After having added some extra parts to a model, I suddenly started to get the error message 'cannot load this car..blah blah' followed by the send/nosend Message of Doom :-? After some hairpulling and headbanging I finally discovered that the problem went away if I parented the new parts to somethin...

More than one passenger view?

Can you have more than one passenger view in a train, or does '5' always gives you the first one counting down from the loco?

It really is standard gauge, it connected to the main Dutch railway system at several places (in fact, one of those places was immediately behind the goods shed you see in the background of the photograph). There was some exchange of goods vehicles between the two systems, and two of the steam engin...

You will need to upload your picture to a web server and link to there. You may have some webspace that came with your ISP account, if so you can use that.
