Being in absolute refusal to nick somebody elses sms code I've tried making my own synced chuff rate but that went poo.

I solved it very easily. It's just a question of seeing it mechanicaly.

I always start with the rotation of the wheels and base the movement of everything else from the location of the cranks. Then it's simply moving each bit so it follows the movement pattern of the one next to it.

Most of my engines have Walchaerts gear so it's not at all hard for me.
