Re: TS2015 is here.
Allowing users and third parties to create content makes the game more appealing and makes DTG more money. So why would they change policy for the UE version, especially as content availability is likely to be a major factor in persuading TS users to upgrade? They likely won't change policy. But th...

Re: TS2015 is here.
Umm Chris, are you not aware of this? http://www.engine-driver.com/article/show/4644/dovetail-games-begins-work-on-next-generation-train-simulator TS2015 is the last itteration of TS as it is now. Next September, they move to a whole new game engine driven by UE4. "Unreal Engine 4 comes with some a...

Re: TS2015 is here.
The old kuju engine reached the limit of what can be done with it a long time ago - Dovetail need to leave it well alone now and use the time more constructively. They had planned, somewhat naively I think, to go to Unreal or Havok. I work in commercial simulation and I can tell you that swapping o...

Re: TS2015 is here.
It's that time of year again and after a 3.2gb (I own all the routes already) download I've fired it up. A few first impressions: I quite like the new menu and love the option to switch off the video intro. Seems to be images missing from routes though. Not only am I missing the images, I'm missing...

Re: Getting distance to next green signal in engine script
Yeah that assumes I have access to the signal scripts, which I don't. I just need to find the distance to the next green signal for ANY green signal on ANY route

Getting distance to next green signal in engine script
Simple question : is there a way to get the distance to the next green signal in the ENGINE scripts?
I know about GetNextRestrictiveSignal but that only returns distance to the next non-green signal. I need to find a way of determining when the train passes a green light.

Separate audio blueprints for cab and passenger views?
I'm having a brainfart right now - I was sure I used to know the name for a child blueprint that could be called for audio that should only be heard in the passenger view. Sort of like the child blueprint "Cab Sound" is for audio that only occurs in the cabview. Anyone know / remember what the name ...

Re: Going to have a go at PZB implementation.
Another question - anyone know if you can detect SPAD approved messages in the cab? ie. if you hit TAB and get approved to pass a red light?
I thought I could do it with
canPassNextSignal = Call ( "*:GetRequestedSPAD" )
but it always seems to be nil.

Thanks for the tipholzroller wrote:Chris I would suggest contacting Maik G of VR, either on here or at Railsim.de. He is normally very helpful and I think it unlikely you will ever be direct competitors. It would also be useful to have a PZB fitted 6400 as well, if you get the time

Yes - if I figure it out it will be selectable.749006 wrote:If you do have PZB on the newer releases can you please fit an On/Off switch.
Not everyone uses the PZB.

Going to have a go at PZB implementation.
For my current project - the Stadler GTW - I'd like to include a PZB implementation but I need some guidance. As I understand it there are three magnets - 500Hz, 1000Hz and 2000Hz. A 2000Hz magnet is emergency braking - passing a red light. A 1000Hz magnet means a distant caution that must be acknow...

Re: ChrisTrains - new Auckland Transport ADL / ADC DMU
Looks great but will probably give this a miss as nowhere to run it. Unless?! Best bit of DLC ever released. Thank you Chris. Why? because its a train I can see in my own country. What better reason is there      And , depending on Local Body politics, MIGHT even see going ...

Re: ChrisTrains - new Auckland Transport ADL / ADC DMU
I was just coming here to post the release note :) So yes - it came out today and no, there's no route for it. That's a long story. The short version is : I built the train to go with a route under development at TSNZ. It was going to be packaged with the route. But time went on and it went quieter ...
