Most (newer) trains - particularly multiple units - are painted under contract by various suppliers. A painted train is then given a 'warranty' by that contractor. As was mentioned, there's always a load of TTs on ebay. Also look at open days, etc. Ian Allan have done a few reprints of old TTs as well.
