Members put a lot of effort into creating and repainting models. Criticism of this type is best put in a PM or e-mail. Plastering all over the forum is not the way to do it. Is this a wind up or what? Can you please quote where I criticised anybodies work in my post? All I asked was for someone to ...

Please, please, It was not my intention in anyway to have a dig at you or criticise your work at all. I really appreciate all the hard work you do (and all the other modellers) and I think your models are splendid. I really appreciate the many hours all you skilled modellers put in. It's the modelli...

EMU's funny textures (Gary Cox, Dave Roles)
I've noticed that the last batch of uploads of EMUs based on 421 sounds and cab view seem to have funny rough mottled textures. I hope you can see what I mean in these 2 shots. The first is from a later 415 and the lower picture is a 414. (I've tried to get the same close-up shot) http://thecaretake...

Wow this one cought on. Lots of you have said that your favourite is the class 117. I'll have to take another look at that one (can't remember now why I didn't keep it. Must have been a reason!). I remember isambardkingdombrunel posting some shots of a US steam train cab that was astoundingly detail...

Class 158 problem
Out of all the trains I've downloaded (447 and counting...), I only seem to get a problem with Steven Weller Class 158's. All my other trains can run for hours with no problems. The 158's run for about 20-30 minutes and MSTS closes down and dumps me to the desktop. Now at first, I thought this may h...

Top MSTS trains, routes and stock awards!
I have often thought it would be nice to have a poll section on the homepage to award the best model makers. It would give us all a chance to see what you all regard as the best models/routes etc. I thought I'd start this thread off to see what you regards as the best. These are my favourites Best m...

Some people invest in monster systems now to give them an upgrade breathing space for a year or two. I'm about to go down this route and don't intend to upgrade for 18 or 24 months after it. Got it in one. My system is about 12 months old now but it was the bee's knees when I put it together. I mig...

Nice to see the Southern Region is being catered for...
It's nice seeing all those Southern Region dmu's in the new download section being added. It's been a bit quite on the Southern front for a bit.
Well done to all. Some nice work. Makes me feel quite at home
Southern Rules OK!

Caretaker 1) What are your system specs please? 2) When my Highworth route is done, please get a copy and report your frame rates, I'm interested to see how it will run on a high-end system. Hi Sandletank. My system isn't quite state of the art on the edge of technology stuff, but I'd be more than ...

I guess I am lucky. I appreciate that some of you don't have such fast systems. I'm not knocking you at all. Everyone to their own. But most games and demos that I have run at far greater speeds these days. It makes for a very much smoother movement. 60fps is very slow compared to the fps of some ga...

ooooops! OK, Just read this thread Looks like it is locked at 60 fps. Must learn to read more :drinking: MAYBE some boffin out there will know how to write a patch file or do a regedit to unlock MSTS so it can do more than 60 fps. Mind you, your prolly not allowed to play with the code of the game s...

FPS in MSTS
I just bought myself a Radeon 97000 pro. This card flies through most 3D programs but MSTS is no better than when I used a GeForce3 (non Ti) and had small cpu (intel 800mhz) on my old system. I now have a Athlon XP2000. Everything else I have seems to be much much faster. It's a fresh install of Win...
