Re: Digital Downloads Subject To Tax?

...as the tax is applied ONLY when you "checkout" it comes as "a nasty surprise". Is there any other kind of tax? Well that starts a WHOLE new debate! Successive Governments of ALL persuasions have used reducing income tax as a "voter pleaser" and at the same time have INCREASED indirec...

Re: Digital Downloads Subject To Tax?

This is rather off topic to the OP, but I recently bought a download from a company in the USA for my Apple laptop, and was charged 20% VAT on the purchase. Somehow, I doubt whether the supplier will be contributing to the UK tax reserves, but perhaps I'm just too cynical these days ... See ...

Streamlines 20% off Canadian stock packs ...and SWREG

Canadian Thanksgiving Day Weekend only sale. To us Brits 20% is rather underwhelming as both Streamlines and Maple Leaf Tracks continue to use SWREG for their online transactions. SWREG give absolutely appalling exchange rates on transactions and slap VAT on the price of your purchase. Until recent...

I wasn't a member during my childhood....well past it in fact; but I'm pleased to say that UKTS has comforted me well into my second. Cheers Bazza  ...the secret of eternal youth! Don't know when I joined because there was a huge melt down of the membership database sometime in 2001?200...

Re: NEW London Underground Metropolitan Line

To clarify my point.... [album 33876 4RailREAL.jpg] [album 33876 4railMSTS.jpg] Most routes have two texture files in the Route's TEXTURE folder [album 33876 Acleantrack.jpg] USUALLY ...maybe not always? there will be "acleantrack1.ace" .....which is the ballast/trackbed texture and "acleantrack2.ac...

Re: NEW London Underground Metropolitan Line

If you Google "london transport station signs" and click on images there are various versions from old to modern that you could copy. I did have a font sometime back but with several HDD and machine "melt downs" I'd have to see if I still have it. I'm not a modeller so I could only paint the .aces. ...

Re: Double Madness

8) ..hmmm this thread is starting to read like the "Daily Wail" comments column now. There are two sides (at least!) to every story and all our comments are based on supposition. Having commuted by car through West London for nearly 40 years I've seen far greater acts of stupidity by ALL classes of ...

Re: NEW London Underground Metropolitan Line

Just an observation. The cleantrack.ace in those shots makes the running track look like conductor rails and Vice versa? Not got any four rail routes on my machines at the moment so can't look at the .aces. If you can point me at the source I'd love to have a play with that if that would be helpful?...

Re: Double Madness

Hi Ian, I saw in the papers the other day that the lady cyclist involved has come forward and admitted it was she who was nearly hit by the train, it also said that British Transport Police were going to speak to her about the dangers she put herself and other in. Bob  ....because having frig...

Re: A little bit of Atmosphere 2

Great Shots Claus. BW shots often look more "real" than colour ones because the less good textures are disguised. Not that that's an issue with the Milwaukee Route or BLW stock in my experience.

Re: Double Madness

Words fail me. One thing though, why do we have half barriers (which are easily avoided by those challenged in the brain department) and not full ones? Regards, Len The clip with the car is quite old and I thought all unguarded crossings were now removed? Mind you bearing in mind that there was a f...

Hi Claus, Many thanks for your reply. It's a pity that it may never be released for our enjoyment, but that's Tim's perogative :) Cheers, Ged Agreed. .....but then there are loads of excellent scenery objects over on Elvas Tower and some brilliant "transition era" vehicles.
